Today I submitted an article to the Journal of Consumer Policy that I have been writing with Eva Heiskanen and Kristiina Aalto. For that reason I updated my publications page. The aim of our article is to examine emerging links between sustainable food consumption practices and public catering. Sustainable public catering is a special example of green public procurement that aims to influence both the supply and demand of more sustainable foods and meals.

In the article we analyse sustainable public catering from the perspective of “analytics of government” as a technology of government to advance sustainable consumption. The particular interest of the article lies in governmental influence on private consumption by setting conditions for consumption and presenting a good example. However, government policies are only materialized once actors take them up in their practices and the new practices are normalized. We thus examine through four perspectives, how various actors translate, oppose and support sustainable food consumption as promoted by public catering.
